چکیده
Abstract A novel failure model updating methodology is presented in this paper for composite materials. The innovation the approach found both experimental and computational methods used. Specifically, a dominant bottleneck data-driven development relates to types of data inputs that could be used calibration or updating. To address issue, nondestructive evaluation obtained while performing mechanical testing at laboratory scale are form damage metric based on series processing steps leverage raw sensing provide progressive curves then calibrate initiation point computed by full-field three-dimensional finite element simulations fiber-reinforced material take into account intra- interlayer damage. Such defined effectively monitor process, therefore, they as way modeling different length scales.

Nondestructive Evaluation of Graphite/Epoxy Composite Damage
Ultrasonic and acoustic emission techniques were used to monitor and evaluate material damage in a graphite/epoxy laminate containing a machined hole as an initial flaw and subjected to fully reversed spectrum fatigue loading at room temperature. It was found that the flaw growth progressed radially around the initial hole at a uniform rate during cycling at the lower stress levels. At the high...

A Common Weight Data Envelopment Analysis Approach for Material Selection
Material selection is one of the major problems in manufacturing environments since the improper selected material may lead to fail in the production processes and result in customer dissatisfaction and cost inefficiency. Every material has different properties which should be considered as major criteria during the material selection procedure. Selection criteria could be quantitative or quali...
متن کاملNondestructive quantification of leakage at the tooth-composite interface and its correlation with material performance parameters.
Current methods to determine debonding/leakage at the tooth-composite interface are qualitative or semi-quantitative. Our previous work introduced a 3D imaging technique to determine and visualize leakage and its distribution at the interface of cavity wall and composite restoration in model cavities. In this study, an automated program was developed to quantify leakage in terms of area and vol...

During the last half century, the use of composite materials and structures has been increasing within many industries: aerospace, automotive, civil, marine, and railway engineering, wind power generation, and sporting goods, to name a few. There is, however, only a small open literature base concerning adhesively bonded composite repairs, primarily originating from within the aerospace industr...
